About the Pastor

After being witnessed to by his long time friend Elder Ronald Hughes, Pastor Benjamin A. Jones was baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit in 1983 as a member of the Peoples Community Apostolic Church in Detroit, MI. Almost immediately, his gift for understanding and ministering the word of God was evident to those around him. After seeking God’s purpose for his life for four years Pastor Jones accepted and acknowledged that he had been made a minister. During his formative years he excelled under the spiritual tutelage and guidance of Elder (now Bishop) Alan Justice and Elder (now Bishop) Adolphus Cast. In 1992 Pastor Jones was ordained an Elder by the Pentecostal Churches of the Apostolic Faith, Inc.

In 1994 Pastor Jones and his family became members of the Greater Apostolic Faith Temple (GAFT) under the pastorate of Bishop Namiah Smith. He served Bishop Smith as an Associate Pastor until Bishop Smith made his transition in 2007. Subsequently, Bishop Lambert Gates became the Senior Pastor of GAFT and Pastor Jones continued to serve as an associate pastor to his new Pastor, Bishop Gates.

In 2009 Pastor Jones was sent by God to start a ministry in the eastern Suburbs of Detroit. With the full support of Bishop Gates and the congregation of GAFT, Pastor Jones founded Nehemiah’s Temple of the Apostolic Faith in September of 2009.
